It’s the start of the High Republic era! Caitlin and Charlotte dive into “Light of the Jedi” by Charles Soule, the first novel in the High Republic initiative. They talk about their impressions of the book and what they’re excited about for this new era, then they talk about deeper themes: Who are the Jedi now? Why this period? Can we draw upon Camelot/Arthurian myth as inspiration? They also give each other quotes from the novel to analyze and discuss further. All this and more on this episode!

We’re celebrating FOUR years podcasting with this special episode! Then, they answer your questions all about Star Wars, their friendship, travels, what they’re looking forward to in 2021, podcasting tips, and much more. Thank you for sticking with us for four whole years of podcasting — we can’t wait for four more!

PS: Caitlin’s audio is kinda funky in the beginning of the episode, but gets *way* better by the 11 minute mark. Sorry about that!

Caitlin and Charlotte bring Hammie (@balancedpadawan) on Skytalkers to discuss the Dyad — Rey and Ben Solo. They discuss the origins, the word etymology and origins, “the mythical dyad.” Then, they talk about the dyad’s function specifically in the Star Wars narrative; how it relates to the Chosen One prophecy, how it fits in with the concept of “twos”. Finally, they wildly speculate about the future: Can Ben Solo be brought back? How would we like to see it? What about the World Between Worlds? All this and more on this episode of Skytalkers.
